When a “sprain” isn’t the real issue, the season — and your confidence — are at risk. Here’s how one player avoided that trap.
——-
A men’s college soccer player who has trained with us for years came in barely able to walk after being kicked in a game. The initial diagnosis elsewhere? “Just an ankle sprain.” But he knew something wasn’t right — and came to us for a trusted second opinion.
After a thorough evaluation, we discovered it wasn’t his ankle ligaments at all. The real issue was an extensor tendon strain on the top of his foot. Left untreated, it could have derailed most of his season, especially for a center midfielder that needs to be able to drive a ball on target and step in on tackles.
Because we had the time to:
- Evaluate fully and re-assess at each visit
- Check in routinely between visits
- Coordinate with his coach, athletic trainer, and strength coach
- Tailor a return-to-play plan to his position as a center midfielder
…we were able to get him back on the field quickly and safely.
The result: In just four visits over one week, he went from walking in a boot → training non-contact → full contact → starting in a high-stakes conference game less than two weeks later. Today his team is ranked third in the country — and he’s back to full minutes.
🔑 Bottom Line: we make sure your recovery is clear and complete:
- ✅ Accurate diagnosis — no guessing, no runaround
- ✅ Clear plan — know exactly what each step looks like
- ✅ Full return — not stuck on the injury merry-go-round
- ✅ No cookie-cutter rehab — every plan is tailored to you, your sport, and your goals
- ✅ Confidence restored — we take the frustration and uncertainty out of recovery.
👉 Don’t waste weeks guessing — let’s get you back with a real plan.
